Finding Forever Homes: The Pawsitive Impact of Animal Rescue
Every day, we see animals come through our doors – abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or simply lost and scared. Each one…
B.A.R.S. is currently working to establish pilot community help programs for low-income families who need financial assistance with vet care. These programs are restricted to the target areas of Spruce Grove and Barrhead and are made possible by generous endowments from individuals in those target areas.
These programs are intended to support via subsidy the spay/neuter of companion cats and dogs owned by low-income families in our target areas in order to break the cycle of unwanted litters. These programs are not for assistance in emergency situations.
We are currently preparing our new online application process for the Community Help Program. The application forms will be available soon through this page our website. Please check back regularly for updates.
Once launched, submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance and that while applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, it may take up to one month for the BARS Board of Directors to make a decision and reach out.
Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters, reducing the number of homeless animals in our communities.
Spaying and neutering offers significant health benefits for pets, such as reduced risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues.
These programs help low-income families provide the best possible care for their pets while promoting responsible pet ownership.
By supporting these programs, you are helping to create a more compassionate and responsible community for both animals and people.
